After a good night rest, we were ready to explore our first port of call, Corfu. But unfortunately the weather didn't seem too good at all.
It was raining all night and we were hoping it would stop in the morning but looking out from the balcony whilst we were out at the Ionian Sea, we knew we won't get to enjoy Corfu much.
The ship tendered early at 8am and we were taken ashore by smaller boats under the rain. Of course, if you like, you may choose to stay back but just like my husband and I, everybody was hoping the rain would stop eventually.
Corfu Town, is the northernmost of the Ionian Islands in Greece, also the largest and most important town on the island.
Corfu Town is where the airport is located and where most cruise ships and long distance ferries dock. It is a small, but very pleasant city that caters well to tourists.
We sought shelter at one of the nearby restaurants, also also to fill our tummy.
I have read about how beautiful Corfu is, but unfortunately due to the rain, we did not get to explore much which was a disappointment. Corfu will forever be etched in my memory as the gloomy, wet city.
And this is what the rain has resulted in - my messy and shabby look.
Due to the never ending rain, everyone returned back to the ship early and look what welcomed us on the bed. This definitely made my day!
We bidded goodbye to Corfu, and were on our way overnight, to beautiful Santorini.
