Mykonos - The Town of Hora

Wednesday, 8th October 2014
Today our beautiful cruise, Jade, docked at new town harbour, Tourlos, just outside of Hora.

The shuttles were already waiting to take us to the edge of town.

This is the gorgeous view taken from my balcony.

As many would know, Mykonos is a classic Greek Island with its signature whitewashed houses, blue-domed churches and windmills.

I also heard that she has one of the world's most vibrant vacation gay scenes, which is readily apparent, and many party beaches with all sorts of weirdness.

                                                            The Agios Nikolaos Church

The crystal clear water of Mykonos.

Mykonian Folklore Museum

Panagia Papaportiani is the famous Cycladic Church in Mykonos. It was once described as 'an organic masterpiece of accidental architecture'.

There were also the trademark quartet of windmills on the hillside above.

We walked around Little Venice, utlizing our time in this city well by shopping around and admiring the scenery at Windmills.

The view of the quaint windmills standing imposingly on the hillside above, set against a luminous blue backdrip - breathtaking, isn't it?

The bluish, greenish & turquoise see-through water, just simply amazing.

We also found a maze of little pathways lined with boutiques, jewelers, souvenir shops, cafes etc. There is fascination at every turn!

With the laundry hung out the front on the typical Mykonos balcony, I am guessing this must be home to the locals.

We were blessed with this beautiful sea view during lunch. Food was amazing but the view made it even better. We could not have asked for more.

I could not get enough of the colours of the water in Mykonos - Simply. Too. Beautiful.

I was lucky to also meet one of the three Mykonos pelicans too!

I was left speechless by the beauty of the island. Every single corner was so picturesque, it's unbelievable.

As you would have noticed above, I bought a Mykonos shirt to fit in and whilst I was at it, I also took this photo with the beautiful local ladies.

We returned back to Jade in the evening and the staff had very kindly left a cute doggy for us this time around!

Just in time to catch the sunset on the view deck before dinner.

And then it was showtime again before we hit the sack and called it a night. This time around it was: Illusions with Cripton & Renata

Just in case you were interested, Cripton & Renata have worked in the most prestigious gala shows, television shows and theaters around the world. They were also winners of many international awards they were recently chosen Best lllusionist 2012 in Italy and Best Magical Assistant 2012.
