City in Spain - Barcelona

15/5/16

This morning Epic arrived at the Port of Barcelona,  the capital of Spain's Catalonia region is one of the country's most beautiful and vibrant places. A city of contrasts, it is like no other in Spain; this is most evident in its architecture, a marriage of Gothic spikes and modern curves.

The ports are at the foot of La Rambla (Barcelona's most famous Boulevard, also often referred to as Las Ramblas) which runs through the heart of the city centre.

The port's shuttle bus that is part of their transit system called the T3. You pick it up right outside the port building. Arrive right at the base of the Ramblas at the Columbus Monument.

Barcelona is a beautiful city. Many tourists arriving on the cruises do not have much time to see the city and we have been before just 2 years ago so we decided to take the Big Red Bus (HOHO $28 euro) routes which allow you to see all the main tourist traps. This is probably the quickest and most convenient way to see the city.

We stumbled on this great fun place for high quality tapas in the Gothic sector, Orio 'Gastronomia Basca'. Display on the beautiful long bar with all types of tapas selection. We really had a great lunch.

Back to Epic in the evening and before going to fill in our tummy ( still too full with the tapas earlier ) so we just take some photos around Epic.
